A linear static analysis on any complicated structure with all the possible loading conditions can graphically show the areas where the designs have maximum deflection, stress concentration, yielding, maximum strain etc. These quantified data are required to decide whether any redesign is required to strengthen the structure for current loading condition. Distribution of quantities such as stress, strain and deflection are graphically illustrated post-analysis and any area shown above the yielding stress depicts the possible failure of the structure. For a particular fixture with an applied loading and boundary condition the deflection and stress distribution is shown in the figure. Maximum deflection is at the place where external forces are acting and stresses are formed around the area of applied force.
